Silver Clay Workshop

In this workshop either parents and children (minimum age six years) can make pieces together or individuals can let their imaginations run wild. Make truly beautiful, intricate pendants or earrings with this versatile material. 

Silver clay consists of minute particles of pure silver mixed with a non-toxic organic binder, which binds the silver particles together to form a clay-like substance.  In the clay form it can be manipulated just like clay. It can be rolled, flattened, cut with a blade, pressed into molds, impressed with shapes and textures. After it has dried it is fired and it is this firing process which turns it into pure silver.  In its fired state, because it is now pure silver, it can be fashioned in the same way as any other precious metal. It can be filed, sanded, textured, burnished, polished, etc. 

You will take away between one and three finished fine silver pendants (or a pair of earrings and a small pendant) and a sterling chain to wear them on.

Also, you can bring items from home to impress upon the silver clay (e.g. shells, doilies, leaves)
